Respected sir and fellow classmates,

here by i am sharing my views on the given task by Dr. Dilip Barad Sir.

Sense of an ending

 

  

As you can see in the image the line "Sometimes what we remember is only half the story" can be the tagline of the novel. The story from the very beginning confused us with his tangled structure. Barns made us confused and curious also at the same time that what would be the end of story? or what is next?

Here are some questions about that which i tried to justify according to my view point.

1. What is the meaning of phrase ‘Blood Money’ in Veronica’s reply email?

Sarah Ford in her will gave money to Tony which is weird according to tony but veronica knows that why she gave money to him because of him Sarah meets Adrian and after that they both have affair and Sarah thinks that Tony is the reason and as her gratitude she gave money to him but in that process veronica's life get destroyed and that's why he said that "Blood Money". 

2. Adrian’s diary is willed to Tony by Sarah Ford. Why did Sarah Ford own it? Why was it in the possession of Veronica?

  The main reason or the secret of the story is Sarah and Adrian having affair and as a result they both having a child who is named as Adrian there is no role of veronica her boyfriend having affair with her mother and their child is now brother of veronica. and this is the reason that Sarah have the diary and why that diary is now to veronica. 

3. Was the mentally retarded middle aged ‘Adrian’, Tony’s friend who did not commit suicide and was suffering from trauma and thus gone mad, and was living with hidden identity? 

No, this Adrian was not Tony's friend. This Adrian is the son of Adrian and Sarah and named same as Adrian.

4.  How was Veronica related to Adrian, the one suffering in care-in-the-community?

Adrian is her brother who is by her own boyfriend and her mother but still we can find here her sacrifice or caring nature that still she taking care of him and sacrifice her own life even don't got married and taking care of the mentally retarded brother.   

5.  Do you see any possible reason in the suicide of Adrian Finn?

We can clearly find that because Sarah who is mother of his girlfriend got pregnant  by him and because of which as the having pregnancy at her that age she died and the child was born with mental disability he choose death. 

6. What do you mean by Unreliable Narrator? Is Tony Webster classifiable as Unreliable Narrator?   

Unreliable Narrator according to me is the one on whom you can not trust who can said wrong story also or can hide the truth from the readers. Here Tony according to me can be considered as unreliable narrator because he at the beginning hide the truth and said the things from which he can not be considered as bad person but at the end when real letter came out at that time we can find that what is truth and what he not said.
