Identify Modernist Metaphors/symbols/images in shorts poems

Respected sir,

first let us see what is Modernism?
That is movement which evoked after romanticism. people of this era were influenced by First World War and because of that their literature also shows us that scenario as we say that literature is mirror of society we can find here also that and we find characteristics of that are like,
1. brokenness
2. Effect of war
3. Art for life's sake
4. Sexual perversion and spiritual degradation etc.

Poems:

1.) Darkness.
Darkness.
I stop to watch a star shine in the boghole –
A star no longer, but a silver ribbon of light.
I look at it, and pass on.

 First of all the title it self suggested that Darkness shows that after war situation where everything is under shadow of darkness. we can find here brokenness of thoughts or life. He use metaphoric language he used star for human's happy bright life but he said that "A star no longer, but a silver ribbon of light" means after war there was no happy life but only assumptions of it.

2.) In a Station of the Metro

THE apparition of these faces in the crowd;
Petals on a wet, black bough.

  Here we can find sadness of tone. words like apparition, Black bough these are used for the sadness and try to say that after war there were no lives all like apparition of faces in crowd which looks like pale petals which lies on wet and black bough.

    Thank you.
